Matadors to rock New Year’s Eve bash

The polished, reassuring sound of Lambert and the Matadors, the most enduring and renowned Caribbean orchestra in the Greater New York area, will be spicing up the celebratory mood in this year’s Gala New Year’s Eve Ball to be presented at the elegant Tropical Paradise Ballroom in Brooklyn. It will be the fifth consecutive year that the management of Tropical Paradise will be hosting a New Year’s Eve bash.

“We are fortunate that the Matadors are headquartered right here in Brooklyn and available to us to add the kind of class we have established for the event” said Dave Gayle, owner-operator of Tropical Paradise. “New Year’s Eve is special. With the high-level musical entertainment the Matadors deliver, we are ensuring that patrons ring in the New Year on an upbeat note and in the stylishly festive environment the occasion demands.”

Lambert and the Matadors have been in existence as a unit for almost 30 years. With the aggregation consisting of solid musicians and vocalists who are transplants from all over the Caribbean, the band boasts a repertoire that runs the gamut from romantic pop through reggae, R & B and sizzling soca.

Tropical Paradise lays it all out New Year’s Eve. The gaily decorated ballroom is designed to put attendees in party mood directly upon entering. Party hats and favors are in plentiful supply. Complimentary champagne is served to toast the arrival of the New Year. Buffet dinner, comprising many of the choice Tropical Paradise Restaurant specialties, is included in the price of advance tickets. Supplementing the music served up by the Matadors will be the D.J sounds of Madman Maddy. Doors open at 10:00 o’clock.
