Affordable housing sprouts in Downtown B’klyn

Atlantic Terrace, an award-winning housing development with 80 affordable, mixed-income co-op units opened up June 1 in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene neighborhood.

Located at 212 South Oxford St., the remarkable new development adds 80 new co-op units to the 130,770 units of affordable housing, giving New Yorkers the opportunity to put down roots in various neighborhood as new homeowners.

“Atlantic Terrace is yet another crucial piece in the City Administration’s revitalization of Downtown Brooklyn,” Deputy Mayor Robert K. Steel said at the official opening ceremony.

“The Affordable Housing Corporation (AHC)’s investment in this beautiful project was supplemented by the State of New York Mortgage Agency (SONYMA), which provided low-cost mortgages to many of the first-time homebuyers who will call Atlantic Terrace home.
