Today’s news:

An impressive roster of top-tier Caribbean comedy talent will continue the tradition established several years ago of rolling out a major fall comedy treat in Brooklyn, when the Kings of Caribbean Comedy presentation kicks off Friday evening, Nov. 16 at Tropical Paradise Ballroom. Show time is 9:00 p.m; doors open at 7:00 p.m.

The stellar lineup of comedy headliners, drawn from Barbados, Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago, who are booked to appear in the evening of non-stop humor includes Tommy Joseph, Trevor Eastmond, Louie Antoine, Sprangalang, Fatman George, Wendell Etienne and Cyclops. The cast of veterans -- who cumulatively have racked up decades of performances as premier attractions in standup, skits, emceeing and other roles – will, in the upcoming revue, bring their standout abilities to a revised format that allows them enhanced performance time to keep the audience in stitches. The show will mark the first appearance in the fall comedy showcase for the diminutive crowd pleaser Cyclops. Steelpan virtuoso Dane Gulston adds a touch of variety to the evening; also aboard doing emcee duty is Wassy.

The tradition of a fall comedy revue in Brooklyn was begun 11 years ago. Leading comedy acts from throughout the Caribbean have been featured.

Ensuring a diversified comedy menu, this year’s version runs the gamut from the sharp standup wit of Trevor Eastmond and Fatman George, to the offbeat storytelling observations of Sprangalang, to the side-splitting skit characterizations of Louie Antoine and Wendell Etienne, to the memorable punch lines in Tommy Joseph’s wisecracking turns.

Joseph, a long-time fan favorite, said: “I always get a great vibe from the New York audience. I’ve done so many performances there and always look forward to the next one that’s coming up.”
