My Reinstatement to the Practice of Law

“Free at last! Free at last!

Thank God Almighty,

I am free at last.”

Martin Luther King

To the Editor:

On Aug. 27, 2012, the hearing panel of the disciplinary committee unanimously recommended that I be reinstated to the practice of law. On Oct. 18, 2012, the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Department, unanimously ordered that I be reinstated to the practice of law, effective immediately.

I wish to thank you for your support during this traumatic period of my life. A three-year suspension turned into an 18-year exile from the legal profession. Your moral support has given me the inspiration to persevere and prevail.

I have kept in mind the words of the Almighty to Joshua. “Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed; for the Lord thy God is with thee, whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1; 9-0.

In unity,

Colin Moore
