WICB appoints first female director

Jennifer Nero has become the first woman to be appointed on the board of directors of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).

She has been appointed for a two-year term as a non-member director.

Nero is a qualified accountant and is the managing director of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), a position she held since 2005.

She is also a former director of internal audit of the EECB. Nero also served as a board member of the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2007.

She obtained her MBA in Information Technology from John Hopkins University and her degree in accounting was attained at Southeaster University in Washington.

“I look forward to working with the board and hope to make a useful contribution to this prestigious regional institution,” Nero said.

President of the WICB Julian Hunte expressed his pleasure with the appointment of Nero to the board to directors.
