Grenadians graduate from MWSU

Grenadian students Emma Gay and Joel Donnell Thomas both earned master’s degrees at Midwestern State University’s December 2011 Commencement exercises on Saturday, Dec. 10. They were part of a group of 20 Caribbean students who also walked the stage.

Gay earned a master of business administration degree. She earned a baccalaureate in the same discipline 18 months ago.

Thomas earned a master of arts in human resource development. He previously earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Spanish two years ago.

More than 150 Grenadian students have earned degrees from Midwestern since 1995 and 55 students are currently enrolled.

Two new students from Grenada will be accepted to Midwestern State University in January 2012, and 12 more will be accepted in August 2012. They will be part of the more than 1000 students who have been recruited from the Caribbean in the 18-year history of the program. The government of Grenada provides support to the program.
