New York’s Caribbean Comedy Revue organizers will celebrate its 10th anniversary with another stellar lineup of laugh-riot headliners, Saturday, Oct. 29 at 8:00 p.m., when Kings & Queens of Caribbean Comedy rolls out its 2011 edition at Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College.
A powerful cast comprising Nikki Crosby, Trevor Eastmond, Sprangalang, Errol Fabien, Louie Antoine, Sinck, Fatman George, Gloria Williams, Nikki Carr and Clifford Learmond is on board for the special edition, with Wassy doing emcee duty.
The talent-laden comedy roster is representative of a true Caribbean cross-section, encompassing Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Grenada and St. Vincent. Three of the performers -- Sinck, Nikki Carr (both of whom have chalked up appearances on HBO)and Trinidadian Clifford Learmond -- will be making their Kings & Queens of Caribbean Comedy debut.
Since its premiere, this blockbuster Caribbean comedy showcase has annually been the ultimate timeout for laughs for the New York metropolitan area’s Caribbean-American community. All of the top-shelf comedy performers from throughout the Caribbean have done turns on the show.
“That guarantee of first-rate fare from the best in the laugh business has made this presentation an eagerly anticipated and popular fall attraction among Caribbean entertainment offerings,” organizers say.
“This time around the audience can look forward to another classic,laugh-filled skit portrayal from Nikki Crosby; the always funny one-man skits of Louie Antoine; more skit comedy from Clifford Learmond; the humorous storytelling of Sprangalang and Errol Fabien; and the stand-up gems of veteran Trevor Eastmond, Fatman George, Gloria Williams, Sinck and Nikki Carr.”
A reception at the venue in celebration of the event’s 10th anniversary will precede the show. Tickets are available at the Brooklyn Center box office (718-951-4500) where they can also be charged, and also at several neighborhood outlets.
