TALENTED HARMONY

While most six-year-olds are busy watching their favorite entertainers on television, there is a delightful little angel who is having the time of her life actually interviewing them – in Hollywood and on the red carpet. Harmony Bailey, daughter of celebrity photographer Hiltron Bailey is lighting up Hollywood with a star quality that is dazzling the stars themselves.

The precocious little six-year-old can claim a resume that is the envy of most accomplished veteran reporters. She has interviewed over 130 celebrities and political figures, including Laila Ali, Iyanla Van Zandt, Ginuwine, Nick Cannon, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Eric Benet, the recently departed Teena Marie, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Magic and Cookie Johnson, Soulja Boy, Monica, Congresswomen Diane Watson and Maxine Waters and Chris Tucker.

Harmony’s talent and easy way with a microphone has landed her actual gigs reporting for Vibe.com and EURweb.com. The budding journalist has her own YouTube.com channel and blog and her skills are so refined that entertainers often re-post her interviews on their own websites. The charming enchantress holds her own on the red carpet.

Outspoken, wise beyond her age and articulate Harmony captivates her interviewee with thoughtful questions and engaging dialogue. Harmony first began performing in public at four years old singing and dancing.

Often seen around Hollywood accompanying her dad covering celebrity events, Harmony first picked up the microphone when she was five years old. It was her interview with popular hip-hop artists, Cali Swagg District, about their new dance craze “Teach Me How to Dougie” that landed her the coveted correspondent position at Vibe.com, serving as their youngest reporter.

“Baby girl is obviously a chip off the old block,” veteran entertainment journalist Lee Bailey, CEO/founder of EURweb.com and God-uncle to Harmony said.

“She’s a natural as a journalist has no problem sticking a microphone in the face of some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. As a reporter she has the amazing capacity to connect with the talent. She is fearless, gifted and beyond amazing.”

Harmony’s charm has landed her interviews considered near impossible to secure. Not only was she the youngest reporter to ever interview the late Teena Marie, she was also able to dialogue with famous author Terry McMillan, who rarely conducts interviews. During her promotion for “Getting To Happy,” McMillan turned down all media requests. She made an exception and gave Harmony an exclusive.

El DeBarge boasted on the red carpet that his interview with little Harmony was better than all the rest. Mariah Carey’s husband, Nick Cannon stated it was an honor and privilege to be queried by her.

And what does Harmony Bailey have to say about her new gig at such a young age?

The former Little Miss African American Scholarship Pageant participant proudly stated: “I love it and I’m having so much fun.”
