Del.icio.usTrinidad and Tobago was crowned Caribbean Twenty 20 champions when they defeated English county Hampshire by 36 runs at Kensington Oval, Barbados recently to take the title.
Trinidad and Tobago posted a score of 147 for seven wickets in the final leaving Hampshire to get 148 for victory.
And they did it with wicket-keeper Denesh Ramdin at the helm, substituting for injured captain Daren Ganga.
Hampshire never got to grips with the Trinidad and Tobago bowling attack and crumbled for 111 for eight wickets in their 20 overs.
Trinidad and Tobago had already qualified for the Airtel Champions League in India later this year, having remained unbeaten in their four matches in the tournament.
Jamaica took third place in the competition with a nine-run win over the Windward Islands in the Consolation Final at the same venue earlier the afternoon.
Last year, Guyana represented the region at the Airtel Champions after beating Barbados in a nail-biting finish.
Trinidad and Tobago in 2009 reached the finals of the Airtel competition and lost.
