Queens Hospital Center welcomes birth of triplets

Queens Hospital Center (QHC) recently welcomed the birth of triplets at its facility.

Paola Silva-Chambilla, 37, gave birth to two girls and a boy on Sunday, June 6. Luisa Fernanda weighed 4 pounds, 4.8 ounces; Luisa Alexandra, 4 pounds, 13.6 ounces; and their brother Luis Alberto, 5 pounds, 1 ounce.

Mother and babies are doing well. Until last week, all three babies remained in the Queens Hospital Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. On Wednesday, Luisa Alexandra and her brother Luis Alberto were able to go home with their parents; on Friday their sister Luisa Fernanda was discharged as well.

Ms. Silva-Chambilla, of Peru, received her prenatal care at Queens Hospital.

She resides in Flushing with her husband, Roberto, a dietary aide. The triplets are their first children.
