Indashio aspires to greatness as a fashion designer

Harlem-based fashion designer Indashio is creative in his thinking, in his design concept and in the excitement that he brings to the runway. His inspiration comes from his youthful sense of style and the way he interprets how sexy a woman could look in his garment.

At the tender age of 25, Indashio is a talent to be reckoned with. His bold intrinsic personality is evident in his collection, a quality that has wooed Hollywood’s most glamorous women to his work.

Tyra Banks, Vivica A. Fox, Amber Rose, Kim Kardashian, Christina Milian, supermodel Sessilee Lopez, Vanessa Carlton and Nicky Hilton are just a few of the chic ladies that Indashio has dressed up.

The couturier describes himself as someone who is aggressive in the business, an attribute that certainly manifests itself in the way he approaches anyone he wants to work with.

His extraordinary talent is evident in his RTW Klub Kid collection. The deluxe outfits were created in exquisite colors and textures for a whimsical and glamorous effect.

“I love color, sexy silhouettes, sexy cuts and sexy creations that flow said the celebrity stylist whose functional line features cocktail dresses in chiffon and silk jersey, sequin fabrication. His sportswear, and swimwear for men and women, in bold neon hues of yellows, pinks, blues and oranges are spectacular.

Indashio was named VH-1’s Glam God from among 12 other designers from around the world, after they were challenged to outfit a celebrity for the Red Carpet.

His seven-year design savvy has landed him in Women’s World Daily, N.Y. Magazine, Elle, and In-touch Weekly, and on MTV.

The line that jazzed up runways in Japan, South Africa, London, the Bahamas and Hawaii, has made the designer world-renown. He recently wowed a crowd at the first Cayman Islands Fashion Solstice, where he closed the show in dramatic style, and brought the audience to its feet.

“I love to inspire people, the way movies inspire me,” said the charismatic artist, whose groovy collection captivated fashion onlookers during his fist show at the Elle Magazine’s Style 360, during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. He was just 19 years old.

The small-town boy from Pittsfield, Massachusetts, called his little sister his muse and credits her for giving him the opportunity to dress her up when he was only seven years old.

But even though Indashio knew he was creative, he never envisioned he would become a fashion designer when he moved to New York.

“I was mesmerizing when I first entered the New York fashion scene. I had never seen so much color before,” added the former fashion editor, who named the deceased Gianni Versace, his favorite designer.

His next big venture is to launch a collection of colorful lip gloss for every skin tone, and extend his brand to include handbags. Rolling out a car design would also be amazing, said the flamboyant designer.

“I did it all on faith, and made it happen for myself. If people are not living their dream, they had better start now, and I hope this interview inspires them to do so.”
