Windies A team faces Pakistan

West Indies will face Pakistan in a near month-long tour of the Caribbean this month as the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) continues to expand its vision of reviving the A-team program.

The WICB announced recently that the Windies will play two four-day Tests, three One-Day matches and two Twenty20s in the series which runs from Nov. 5 - Nov. 27.

This represents the fourth series since the A-team program was revived in April. The WICB said it was further demonstration of its commitment.

The A-team program had become dormant some time ago and was resuscitated to ensure so that players that just below the Test and One-Day level are able to play more, quality cricket against opposition that is of international quality,” the WICB said.

The current tour by Pakistan to the Caribbean follows the tours of Bangladesh and the UK.

The A-team program was revived in April when Zimbabwe toured the Caribbean ahead of the World Twenty20 Championship, and continued with tours to Bangladesh in May and England and Ireland in July.

The West Indies A-team opened the Pakistan tour at the Sir Vivian Richards Ground in Antigua.
