Usain Bolt said he is fit again and looking forward to the challenges of the coming year.
The Jamaican sprint megastar has finally resumed training, after being sidelined with a back injury last August, following a defeat to arch-rival Tyson Gay of the United States in the 100 meters race in Stockholm.
“Training has started and the good news is that I am l00 percent healthy, and am completely over my back and Achilles problems from the summer,” he said in an online diary entry on the website of the IAAF, the sport’s world’s governing body.
“I am really enjoying training at the moment. For the first time in my career, I was looking forward to getting back into training before the end-of season-break was over,” he said.
Bolt, 24, now feels that he is over the injury setback, and is looking forward to defending his World 100 and 200 titles in Daegu, South Korea.
Bolt also detailed his activities in recent weeks, including a trip to Australia and the launch of his first book, “My Story,” which includes his achievements up to his 9.58 seconds at the last World championship in Berlin.
