Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College continues its 2010-2011 Theater Series with a special Halloween presentation of Cirque Le Masque: Carnivale on Sunday, Oct. 31 at 3:00 p.m.

Conceived by veteran entertainment entrepreneurs Dennis and Bernie Schussel, Cirque Le Masque has performed in many international capitals around the world, including Paris, Athens, Dubai and Caracas, as well as in cities across the U.S.

This sophisticated, animal-free European-style circus features an international cast of brilliantly costumed jugglers, acrobats, aerialists and clowns performing gasp-inducing actors of balance, grace, strength, agility, and comic audience interaction.

Cirque Le Masque’s newest production, “Carnivale,” takes audiences to the streets of Rio de Janeiro during the pre-Lenten Carnival season, where they become participants in the world’s biggest party, complete with colorful lighting, special effects, and an original musical score.

This production won The Silver Medal Award, The Best Modern Show Award, The Best Stage Direction Award, and The Choice Award for Children’s Entertainment at the 2009 International Circus Festival in Bucharest, Romania.

This special performance is appropriate for children of all ages, making it the perfect Halloween weekend event. Children ages 18 and under pay half price, and kids are even encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to the show.
