New Children Mental Health Center

Astor Services for Children & Families celebrated the opening of its new Astor Children’s Mental Health Center, “Astor at Highbridge,” with a dedication and ribbon cutting recently at 1419 Shakespeare Ave., Bronx, N.Y.

The guests in attendance for the ribbon cutting ceremony of Astor’s new Children’s Mental Health Center included Bronx Assemblywoman Vanessa Gibson; Bronx Deputy Borough President Aurelia Greene; Bronx Chamber of Commerce President Lenny Caro; Bronx Democratic Nominee for the 33rd Senate District, Gustavo Rivera, and other community leaders and mental health professionals families and friends.

Astor’s new outpatient Clinic at Highbridge provides mental health services for children and adolescents (ages 2 – 21), and their families through outpatient counseling, psychiatric services and case management, in a caring and supportive environment.

In addition, the clinic is designated a Child and Family Plus provider that provides mental health screening at no cost to families.

Since 1953, Astor Services for Children & Families (formerly The Astor Home for Children) has been providing behavioral and educational services in a caring environment where children and their families find strength, healing, hope and trust.

Now serving more than 6,000 children and families annually, Astor’s current range of services to families in the Mid-Hudson Valley and the Bronx include: Residential Treatment, Therapeutic Foster Family Care, Early Childhood Programs, and Community-Based Behavioral Health and Prevention Services.
