In his recent book, Page One, David Folkenflik addresses questions such as, Should the news be managed or should it stream freely, open and unimpeded by editors? What are the differences between an opinion column and a blog, a reporter and a social networker? How does a newspaper like The New York Times handle WikiLeaks’ massive releases of raw data? He also considers these questions with a special focus on The New York Times and the inside story of its attempt to navigate the new world of news today, embracing the speed of news on the internet without straying from its commitment to the accurate reporting and in-depth analysis that make the newspaper of special value in this new environment. 1:30 pm.
